“Mum and Dad are in their 60’s now and taking care of my sister who was born with Down Syndrome has proven more difficult the past 5 years or so. Taylah is so loving and enjoys life so much. She idolises Mum and Dad but relies on them for all aspects of her care. Mum and Dad know that as the years go on, other arrangements will need to be made for Taylah’s care, but for now, they still want to have her with them in our family home, they just needed help, some time to enjoy their own retirement and a transition process for Taylah to adjust to not having them around 24/7. Banksia Care has been all that. Help. Taylah goes to respite twice a week and loves the art classes. Mum and Dad have joined the local bowls club and on Thursdays, Taylah gets help at home from a wonderful carer who pops in to shower her and dress her, give her lunch and spend time with her until Mum and Dad get home.“
