When we welcome a new resident to Banksia House or Banksia Cottage or engage a new client living in a Supported Independent Living arrangement, we also extend that welcome to their families and friends. We have been fortunate at Banksia to have meet so many wonderful families who have entrusted us with the care of their loved one. We know that sharing the care of a close family member, loved one or friend with a virtual stranger and team of professionals is an emotional and difficult time, but also one that we hope will prove both rewarding, comforting and supportive.

“I turned 22 last year and my Mum said I was old enough to go and live by myself. I love my Mum, but I wanted to be with some friends my age and take care of myself. I live at Banksia House with Julia, Trent and Phoebe. We have so much fun and go to Music Bingo every week with one of our care workers. We cook yummy food together and sometimes we even get Pizza.”
